For those over at the Western side of town, this is another great beach I came across last summer.
A huge open beach with a grass field just on the back of it. So once your dog has finished in the water
they have an oval to run around on and dry off a bit. There is also fresh water bowl and drinking fountains next to the main pathway.

What I really like about this beach is that it's HUGE come low tide. While the beach and field is not fenced
in, you'll end up walking out a distance to get to the water. The beach is also very long, so if you
find one group of dogs isn't getting along with yours, head on further up well out of the way and introduce yourself to others, there's
heaps of beach to go around!

There is a good amount of free parking on-site. I've arrived during crowded days, and there was still plenty of parking outside across the road.
For those of you that can not drive, the train station is only a 10min walk away. So you could make it a afternoon trip riding the trains to the beach
with your dog; I've done it many times ;)

This is a very popular beach and if you arrive at any point in the day during low tide you'll likely
see why. If you're dog doesn't like the bay water, normally there's a few little water pools at low tide which
they can paddle around in to build confidence. There is also a shipwreck which becomes visible during low tide which is fun to explore.

If you've never been to this beach before, especially if you're from the east side, I recommend taking the family
and dogs out on an evening visit it during low tide so you can go for a long walk. You'll see crabs in the evening,
all the boaters coming home from their day out on the bay, and you have Seaholm or Altona shops nearby to get some dinner afterwards.
